A longstanding favorite of whiskey buffs, single malt whiskeys are those produced by a single distillery. Surprisingly, single malt whiskey contains only three ingredients; barley, yeast, and water. What’s more, authentic single malt whiskey must be allowed to age, in 180-gallon oak casks, for a minimum of three years.
